The Faculty Development Program (FDP) is designed to help faculty develop and/or demonstrate teaching-related practices in a flexible and practical way. It consists of three courses:
- Foundations of Teaching and Learning (FTL) * – pre-requisite for TEL and ITSP
Fall 2018: Tuesdays, 9:50am-12:30pm or 12:35pm-3:15pm, September 11 to December 4
Note: FTL is the first course in the Faculty Development Program and the pre-requisite for TEL and ITSP.
- Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL)
Fall 2018: TEL is not offered in the Fall 2018
Winter 2019: Wednesdays, 9:50am-12:30pm, January 16 to April 10
- Inclusive Teaching and Scholarly Practice (ITSP)
Fall 2018: Thursdays, 9:50am-12:30pm, September 13 to December 6
Winter 2019: Thursdays, 9:50am-12:30pm, January 17 to April 11
Each course requires approximately 36 hours of classroom and/or blended-mode participation. Faculty complete a portfolio with elements related to course design, classroom practices, and assessment of student learning. The FDP is a mandatory requirement for all probationary faculty, although all faculty members are welcome to enroll.
